‘IFHY’ has unofficially been accepted into the XXXXXXXXX Film Festival located in the director’s home state of Pennsylvania. This fest’s programming slate will be announced next week. For now, I can tell you that June is looking like an insanely busy month, but all the filmmakers, cast and crew, hope to attend.

this is insane, minute after the latest review went up at Twitch, i got a request to screen the film from the CFC Worldwide Short FIlm Festival… later, I was contacted by an agency and production company/financier who wants to talk about my slate of future projects. I woke up this morning depressed that I wasn’t able to “push through” with my career and suddenly all this? craziness.

there is another review for IFHY over at… and look under the heading for “INDIE SPOTLIGHT”. hard to miss if you just look for the IFHY poster graphic. Also, the IMDb.com listing just went live. credits should populate over the next two weeks.

I’ve been up all f*cking night working on promoting IFHY (petitioning critics, submitting to festivals, building an online store to sell it from, etc) because most of my time goes to The Happening right now. found a cool little festival in Big Sur run by the Henry Miller library…. listen to what they say they look for…
The Big Sur Short Film Screening Series showcases the best of short films from all over the world. We are interested in films that are bold and uncensored, films that invite us into your world, that will shock us, madden us, make us cry and laugh, films with moments that are especially lovely, serendipitous, interesting, candid or moving. There is no particular theme, but we are looking for very evolved relationships with the camera, moments of dependency, love, and naturalness. We like brilliantly crafted stories. We are not interested in work that is clever at the expense of substance. (Please don’t send us your “early experimental” work – you know the films we mean).
The Big Sur Short Film Screening Series is produced by the Henry Miller Memorial Library and since both Henry Miller and Anaïs Nin worked with erotic and sexual subjects, our series welcomes the presentation of frank sexuality as long as it is intrinsic to a film/story. i’ve been told they screen in an outdoor amphitheater and other filmmakers who have attended say its one of the those unknown gems… great crowds, etc.

IFHY has been submitted to and is in consideration by over 30 int’l film festivals in new york, los angeles, and all over the world including the Festival de Cannes. keeping our fingers crossed. IFHY is also, officially, a Dogme film. #242. amazingly, we really did abide by the vow of chastity (albeit, unknowingly). the only item I violated was crediting the director and it would seem that a “scope” aspect ratio is frowned upon. but that only means i’ll have to write up my “confessional”. there is no mention of post treating the image so i think i’m fine there. what a riot!!
